Zooey Deschanel

  

Zooey Claire Deschanel (born 17 January 1980) was an American model, actress and singer. Her first film appearance was in Mumford (1999) as well as she was a character in Cameron Crowe's film Almost Famous (2000). Deschanel is known for her slapstick performances in comedies like The Good Girl (2002) and The New Guy (2006). She has also explored dramatic film territory with Manic (2001), All the Real Girls (2006), Winter Passing 2005, Bridge to Terabithia (2008), The Happening (2008) as well as The Driftless Area (2015). She played the character as Jessica Day on Fox's sitcom New Girl from 2011 to the year 2018. In this role, she was nominated for an Primetime Emmy Award as well as three Golden Globe Awards. Deschanel was part of the jazz cabaret group If All the Stars Were Pretty Babies for a couple of years, starting in 2001. Deschanel joined forces with M. Ward in 2006 to form She & Him. Their debut album called Volume One was released in 2008. The duo has released five albums since including Volume Two (2010) and A Very She & Him Christmas (2011). Volume 3 (2013) was their final album. Classics 2014 was their fifth album.
