Julia Ormond Bio
The beautiful and dark British actress and activist for social change Julia (Karin) Ormond was born on January 4 1965 in Surrey in England The second of five children. She was born into privilege as the daughter of a wealthy technician at a laboratory and her mother, they divorced when she was just a little girl. Julia attended Guildford High School and Cranleigh an independent school, where she showed an interest in theater at the time, appearing in two of their musicals. Julia was born into a family of artists. She initially wanted to become an artist. However, she rediscovered her love for acting after completing one year of art school. In 1988, she graduated from Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. In the play "Wuthering Heights" as Catherine, she met and eventually married her Heathcliff (actor Rory Edwards) in real life. Julia had a huge impact on TV as she was cast as a young drug addict on the TV show Traffik (1989). In Young Catherine (1991), she played Catherine the Great, which also featured husband Edwards. She was a star-making actor. In the TV movie Stalin (1992), she played Nadya the wife of Catherine. Robert Duvall was the main actor. In 1993 she made her feature film debut alongside Ralph Fiennes with The Baby of Macon (1993), which was the story of an unborn woman who gives birth to an "immaculate child". The actress followed this up with lead or second leading roles in films such as the European biopic Nostradamus (1994) and the romantic drama Captives (1994) co-starring Tim Roth; and the period war drama Legends of the Fall (1994) as the love interest of both Brad Pitt and Aidan Quinn.
