Thora Birch

Thora Birch was born March 11th on 1982. She is an American actress, producer, and director. In 1988 she made her film debut in the film Purple People Eater. For the performance, she was awarded a Young Artist Award as "Best Young Actress under nine years of age". Birch was a child actress who appeared in films like All I Want For Christmas (1991) The the Patriot Games(1992), Hocus Pocus (1993), Monkey Trouble (94), Now and Then (1995), and Alaska (1996). The actress received a Young Artistic Award in the category of "Best Young Actress Under Nine Years of Age." In 1999, Birch played Jane Burnham in American Beauty. This film resulted in an BAFTA nomination. She then starred as Enid in the critically acclaimed Ghost World (2001), winning a nomination for Golden Globe for Best Actress. Birch was nominated for an Emmy Award for her performance in Homeless To Harvard: The Liz Murray Story in 2003. Other films she has appeared in include Dungeons & Dragons (2000), The Hole (2001), Silver City (2004), Dark Corners (2006), Winter of Frozen Dreams (2009) and Petunia (2012).After having a break from acting, Birch returned to her acting career in 2016 and has since been in several independent films. Birch played the role of Whisperer Mary/Gamma during the season 10 episode of The Walking Dead (2019-202). Birch was the eldest of children born to Jack Birch (and Carol Connors) in Los Angeles. Birch, whose family originally included the surname Biersch is German-Jewish as well as Scandinavian. She also has French-Canadianand French-Canadian and Italian ancestral roots. [6] Her name, "Thora," is taken from the name of Thora, the Norse god thunder and lightning ("Thor") (which could have been her name if she was a boy. Kian Bolt Birch Her younger brother, is her mother. They are both former adult film actors, and were both actors in Deep Throat. Based on their own experiences in the entertainment industry, they were reluctant to encourage her, but were persuaded to show her photo to agents by a babysitter who noticed her mimicking commercials. Birch was only four years old when she had her first big break when her babysitter invited her on a audition for the Quaker Oats advertisement.
