Tracy Spiridakos

Tracy Spiridakos is a Canadian actress. She appeared in the Teletoon children's comedy series Majority Rules as Becky Richards. from 2009 to 2010. Then she starred as Charlotte "Charlie" Matheson in the NBC post-apocalyptic science fiction series Revolution from 2012 to 2014, for which she was nominated for an Saturn Award for Best Actress on Television. Annika Johnson was her character in the A&E television drama Bates Motel. Since 2017 Spiridakos is a regular on the NBC police drama Chicago P.D. As Detective Hailey Upton, Spiridakos is the main character. Spiridakos was the daughter of restaurant owners George Spiridakos and George Spiridakos, who were both born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She has two brothers. The family moved to Skala in Greece located south of Sparta, shortly after her birth. In 1992, they returned to Canada. She is very attached to her Greek family and speaks fluent Greek. Spiridakos started acting in her junior high school. She continued her studies at the Actors Training Centre of Manitoba. She was a graduate of Oak Park High School in Winnipeg in 2000. Spiridakos relocated to Vancouver in 2007 to pursue acting and in a matter of weeks, she landed her first television appearance which was a small part in Supernatural. She continued her television work, playing walk-on roles in Bionic Woman's The L Word, Hellcats, Psych and other shows. Spiridakos starred in the TV film Goblin as well as the web-based show Mortal Kombat: Legacy. Spiridakos appeared on Being Human as the werewolf Brynn McCLean. In 2009 she was cast in her first starring role as Becky Richards, a 15-year-old girl in Canadian Teletoon's Majority Rules! Her feature film debut was in the year 2011 with Rise of the Planet of the Apes. In Kill for Me, she played alongside Katie Cassidy and Donal Logue. Spiridakos made an appearance as Sammi in the 2012 Nickelodeon original film, Rags. Spiridakos then was offered the main role in Revolution in the role of Charlotte Matheson (survivor in an unimaginative future society) in NBC television. As she attended her first pilot season, she auditioned for the part. Spiridakos produced her pilot in Atlanta. The first season was shot in Wilmington, North Carolina. She was nominated for an Saturn Award for Best Actress on television for her performance in the pilot season but was beaten out by Anna Torv of Fringe's Anna. The series' second season was filming in Austin, Texas.
