Renee Kathleen Zellweger
Renee Kathleen Zellweger, was born in Katy, Texas on April 25 the year 1969. Her mother Kjellfrid (Andreassen) is an ex-nurse and midwife from Norway, Kven (Finnish), and is also of Swedish and Norwegian descent. Her father, Emil Erich Zellweger, is an engineer from Switzerland. They were are married in 1963. Drew Zellweger was Renee's older brother. He is a marketing executive who was born February 15, 1967. Renee was a member of the drama club at high school and began to be attracted to acting. In Austin, she also attended an acting class and began to consider acting as a profession. She was determined to act when she finished her studies, but Hollywood isn't easy to enter. Renee decided not to leave Texas and auditioned in Houston to be cast in roles. Matthew McConaughey (another Hollywood rising star) was her pal while she was filming of Texas Chainsaw Massacre II: The Next Generation (1994). Renee watched him work on a project which was of interest to her. She auditioned , and was awarded the role in Love and A.45 (1994). The film was a success that earned her the critical praise for her to make the decision to move to Los Angeles. Her breakthrough came in another role in The Whole Wide World (1996). Cameron Crowe was busy casting his next film, Jerry Maguire (1996),starring Tom Cruise. Crowe was looking at actresses like Bridget Fonda and Marisa Tomei when He saw Zellweger's performance in The Whole Wide World (1996). He auditioned Zellweger to confirm that she was indeed his Dorothy Boyd. Renee continued her great success in small independent films. She was praised again from critics and was assured that she was able to reenter big-budget Hollywood films. She played opposite Meryl Streep in the tear-jerker One True Thing (1998).
